An ovarian cyst is a bit of a mystery to the medical world because doctors are unable to explain exactly why it appears. As a result, doctors are equally clueless about how to get rid of it. The statistics concerning medical treatment of ovarian cysts are not very encouraging. A shocking 95.6 percent of women who underwent medical treatment for their cysts reported that they felt far worse after the treatment.
The conventional medical treatment for an ovarian cyst consists of medications that have potentially harmful side effects. Doctors also opt for surgical procedures such as a laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy, or worse still, a laparotomy. These surgical procedures are expensive and not without risk. The worst thing is that they leave the woman with a lot of problems to deal with, leading her to the conclusion that the ovarian cyst was hardly a problem to begin with. The irony is that doctors will not be able to guarantee their patients that they will never develop another cyst again. This makes the entire exercise completely worthless.
