At the age of about 14, I started to develop acne. I purchased tons of products, such as Proactiv and Clean & Clear, but none of them were effective enough for me. I was beginning to think that my acne was incurable, and that I would always be looked at as the boy with acne. My face started to become embarrassing, and it was starting to hurt my social life too. In school, everybody avoided me because of my awful acne and I just wanted to put this to an end. Its easy to find tips about getting rid of pimples. Some of them may actually have some merit. Here is a sampling:

• Frequent ice packs
• Cleanse often
• Pimple Creams
• Avoid oily makeup
• Dab toothpaste (a new one to me)
• Avoid picking and squeezing

However, after battling pimples for many years, I concluded that none of the common tips helped much, if at all. One thing did make a difference: if I skipped cleansing my face before bed, I would get a pimple a few days later. Once that pimple appeared, nothing would get rid of it.
