People with oily skin tend to have more problems with acne and outbreaks. Many of them have tried lots of different treatments, only to find out that none of them work.

I know I have tried everything including very aggressive treatments such as birth control pills and antibiotics, as well as creams and lotions. All of them very expensive and ineffective. At the best they reduce my acne for a short period, but it always come back when I stop the treatment. So I made a decision not to spend my money on these sort of thing ever again. Anyone who ever struggled with acne knows it’s a difficult battle to win. If the usual cleanse, tone and moisturize routine don’t work for you, it may be time for a change from the traditional products to a homemade acne treatment.

There are many causes to acne, and it’s probably safe to say that some of us are just genetically predisposed to bad skin. Other than that, environmental factors like stress and pollution play a big part in causing acne. Diet is another major factor.

I know I have tried a lot of OTC medications only to find out that none of them really work. I tried lots of different treatments, including expensive acid-based creams and lotions. I’ve also tried several chemical peels without any results. I was inclined to try getting microdermabrasion, but I’ve been in contact with people who tried it and it really did nothing.
